Superliga ArgentinaWeekly – Argentina Betting Tips & Analysis

We have freshened up the format a little this week with our focus on the the Superliga Argentina.

1. Who Will Be Collecting Their Unemployment Check?

This weekend will be decisive for some coaches, who are
walking a tightrope on the verge of unemployment. First we have Ricardo Zielinzki (Estudiantes) who after the elimination of his team in the Copa Libertadores has gone downhill, losing and showing a poor level, which led him to indicate in a press conference that if things continued to go wrong he would decide to step aside.

We also have Javier Sanguinetti (Newell’s) which is a curious case, since he got three consecutive wins in the first three games of the league, so the fans began to idolize him on social media, unfortunately after those victories, he was ten consecutive games without a win, which casts doubt on his continuity, although he has said he wants to stay, the impatience of the fans may end in a dismissal of the coach.

2. A Civil War At River Plate?

River Plate have been far from their best since Marcelo Gallardo took over the reins. Although they are only seven points behind leaders Atlético Tucumán, a slip up by the team from Tucuman would be enough for them to join the fight.

It has been rumoured in the last few hours that in his last away game, which was a 0-0 draw against Arsenal, Marcelo had a strong argument with Enzo Perez and Franco Armani, because the coach shouted and insulted the young striker Lucas Beltran.

Gallardo is considered by most to be the best coach in Argentinian football. The passion with which he lives this sport has made him a very demanding coach who always wants to win, but when things don’t work out, the coach gets a bit overexcited when he complains to his players.

So far the protagonists have said that everything is a lie, but there are several witnesses who claim otherwise, we will wait to see what happens in the coming weeks.

3. Velez Sarsfields Biggest Week Of The Year

Velez have their biggest challenge of the year, as after Sunday’s league game against Independiente (where they will use an alternative team to rest their first team players), they will face the mighty Flamengo in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores Semi-Final on Wednesday.

This will be extremely difficult for the Argentine team as they face the most expensive team on the continent, Flamengo’s roster is more than three times the value of Velez’s roster.

Everyone expects the Brazilian team to win easily and destroy the Argentinian team, we believe that Velez has a small chance to win, we will wait and see what happens, it will undoubtedly be a great match.

Game Of The Week: Boca Juniors vs Atletico Tucuman

This weekend we have an exciting match, on one side we have Boca, the most popular team in the country, who although they are not going through their best moment, will be playing at home with the responsibility that this implies. On the other side we have league leaders Atletico Tucuman, a team that surprises everyone week after week. Both will face each other with a lot at stake, as it is a key game for the future of both teams and the league.

If Boca don’t get a win they can say goodbye to their dream of winning the league this season, which will be very difficult as the team is still in a very bad moment, last game they were completely dominated by Defensa y Justicia, who had no luck when it came to finishing and ran into the great figure of Agustín Rossi, and finally, they found a goal in a very undeserved way in stoppage time with a counter attack, in what was the only clear attacking play they had in ninety minutes. Boca won this match 1-0.

This victory did not bring relief to the fans who are angry about the low level the team is showing, and to add to the bad news, they will have to face the best team of the season so far, which is Atletico Tucuman.

Atletico Tucuman started the season in the relegation zone to the second division, and after the arrival of new coach Lucas Pusineri the team has been revitalised, losing only one game out of the fifteen they played in the league. They conceded only six goals, thanks to their impeccable defence and great goalkeeper Carlos Lampe.

This is a test of attitude for the Tucuman side, who will have to prove they are up to the task, as many believe they will not be able to hold on to the top of the table for the remainder of the league, indeed the betting odds give Boca as clear favourites.

For our part, what we can expect is a dominant win for Atletico Tucuman, and the whole stadium booing the players and the coach, but as it is Boca, anything can happen.
